DESCRIPTION:Looking to get into Government Contracting but confused on where to start? Join speaker Courtney Mustin to learn the ins and outs of eVA.\n\nVirginia’s eProcurement Portal is eVA. Courtney Mustin\, Business Services Manager for Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity\, will teach attendees how to register in eVA and successfully use it to win government customers. This program is a recommended continuation to SWaM certification training.  \nTopics covered in this workshop: \n\nWhat is eVA?\nHow to register for and use eVA\nWhat types of solicitations are posted through eVA?\nLive demo and walk through of the eVA website and registration process\n\n  \n \nSpeaker: Courtney Mustin\, Business Services Manager\, Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity\, is employed by the Virginia Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity as the Business Services Manager covering the Central and Western Central Regions of The Commonwealth.  She works with start-up\, and emerging\, as well as established small businesses to implement economic growth and development by teaching them how to conduct business with Virginia state and local agencies which require their particular goods and services\, and also by partnering with other entities to cover a vast array of topics to engender success for small business owners.  She began her career with The Commonwealth at the Virginia Department of Transportation then moved to what is now the Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity.  She’s been employed by the Commonwealth for 20 years. \n  \nREGISTER\n  \nOnce registered\, you will receive a confirmation email from centeric@clients.virginiasbdc.org\, our automated system. DESCRIPTION:If you are considering the Federal Marketplace for your business\, your first steps are to complete your registration in both the System of Award Management (SAM) and the Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS).\nThis class with walk you through how to properly fill out these profiles in order to stand out to Federal and Prime buyers. This class is also for those who may already be in SAM and DSBS but need to know if their information is complete. \nREGISTER\n\n\nJoin Lisa Wood\, Director of the Virginia Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC)\, for this informative presentation – a “must” for those who are considering the Federal Government contracting market and want to learn how to prepare for/navigate this huge potential market.  This “beginners” class offers tips and tricks on how to win Federal business.\nLisa Wood is the Statewide Director of the Virginia Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) hosted by George Mason University. Prior to that\, she served as the Statewide Director with the Connecticut and Ohio PTAC programs and was also Director for the Northwest Commission PTAC in Pennsylvania. Before joining the PTAC community\, Lisa was a Procurement Specialist for Bechtel Plant Machinery\, Inc. in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. In this role\, Wood performed contract administration and negotiation duties. She also recommended bidders\, handled issue inquiries\, negotiated bids\, performed cost and price analysis\, and prepared comprehensive letters to justify recommended contract actions.  Ms. Wood holds an MBA from the University of New Haven and a BSBA through Robert Morris University of Pittsburgh where she is also pursuing her PhD in Instructional Management and Leadership. \nREGISTER\n
